At Loom of Lambourn, our workshop has been specially created for the delicate art of textile finishing. Every stair runner and bespoke rug we produce passes through the hands of our dedicated taping team, who understand the unique structural properties of woven, tufted, and natural floor coverings.

We do not use massive mass-production machinery. Instead, everything is meticulously crafted by hand on our work table using our specialist sewing machine. Because our work is completely bench-made by eye and hand, no two pieces are identical, and they will not have the rigid, sterile perfection of a factory-stamped product. Instead, minor natural variations in the stitching and taped borders are a true mark of authentic, honest British craftsmanship. This individual focus gives our work character, durability, and a high-end feel that machine production simply cannot replicate.

Trade Preparation Checklist

To ensure a flawless finish and prevent any delays on our work table, please follow these steps before sending your materials to us:

• Specify Your Tape: Clearly state your chosen tape code, fabric type, and color on your paperwork. We order in tape specifically for each project, which incurs a small carriage fee. We cannot begin work until your selection is confirmed.
• Pre-Cut to Size: Ensure all carpet pieces are pre-cut to the exact finished width and length required before shipping them to our workshop.
• Logo Label Preference: Let us know if you prefer your orders without our branding. We sew a small Loom of Lambourn logo label onto every piece by default. If you want this omitted, you must check the opt-out box on your order paperwork.
• Clear Labelling: Securely attach your business name and your Project Reference / Job Name directly to the carpet wrapping of each piece.
• Secure Packaging: If using a courier, wrap your pre-cut carpet securely in heavy-duty plastic to protect it from moisture and dirt during transit.

What is your standard turnaround time for trade orders?
Our standard turnaround is 10 to 14 working days from the moment your carpet arrives at our workshop. If you have an urgent retail installation deadline, please contact our trade desk prior to dispatch to discuss express scheduling.
How do we handle shipping and logistics?
We offer complete flexibility. You can drop off and collect your materials directly from our workshop, or you can book your preferred national courier to deliver to us. Once finished, we can courier the completed pieces back to your showroom or directly to your store.
Can you apply blind stitching to any type of carpet?
Blind stitching works beautifully on the vast majority of premium tufted, woven, and natural floor coverings. However, exceptionally thick, heavy shag-pile carpets or delicate open-weave materials may require specific border treatments. If you are unsure, send us a small sample snippet, and our team will advise you on the best method.
Do you supply the tape, or can we send our own?
Loom of Lambourn stocks a comprehensive, high-quality range of cotton, linen, and heavy-duty performance tapes in various widths and colours. While we prefer using our tried-and-tested stock, trade clients can supply specialist fabric trims if a project demands it.

Loom of Lambourn – Terms & Conditions

1. General Principles
   1. Hand-Crafted Nature: All our rugs and stair runners are individual pieces made by hand on our work table. Minor natural variations in the stitching and taped borders are a true mark of authentic, bench-made textile finishing rather than factory-stamped perfection, and are not considered manufacturing defects.
   2. Material Integrity: We inspect all supplied carpet upon arrival. Loom of Lambourn reserves the right to reject materials that are heavily soiled, damp, or structurally compromised prior to starting any work.
2. Trade & Retailer Free-Issue Materials (Customer Supplied)
   1. Pre-Cut Requirement: Loom of Lambourn operates strictly on a finishing-only basis for trade clients. All carpets sent to our workshop must arrive pre-cut by the retailer to the exact final width and length required for the project.
   2. No Templates: We do not accept paper or physical templates for winders or staircases. It is the responsibility of the trade client to calculate, cut, and supply the individual pieces ready for our work table.
   3. Cutting Liability: We accept no liability for fitting issues, shortfalls, or incorrect sizes resulting from materials that were miscalculated or cut incorrectly before being sent to us.
   4. Carpet Leftovers & Wastage: Unless explicitly requested otherwise on the order form, any remaining scraps or offcuts left over from your supplied stock will be disposed of after project completion.
3. Tape Selection & Ordering
   1. Tape Selection & Carriage Fees: Because we order in your specific edge tapes for each individual project, your tape selection must be finalized and clearly stated at the time of order submission. We cannot schedule your pre-cut carpet onto our work table until the correct tape choice is locked in. Please note that a small carriage fee will be added to the invoice to cover the cost of ordering in your chosen tape.
   2. Tape Shading: While we source high-quality cotton, linen, and performance tapes, dye lot variations can occur. We cannot guarantee an absolute colour match to old samples or previous separate orders.
4. Workshop Branding
   1. Branding Preference: To mark our craftsmanship, a small Loom of Lambourn logo label is sewn into the edge of every finished rug and stair runner by default. If you or your customer do not want our logo label attached, you must explicitly opt out by ticking the box on the trade inquiry form prior to production.
5. Turnaround Times & Logistics
   1. Standard Timeline: Our standard workshop turnaround time is 10 to 14 working days from the day the carpet physically arrives at our facility. This timeline does not include shipping or transit days via national couriers.
   2. Transit Liability: While we package all completed runners securely in protective heavy-duty wrapping, Loom of Lambourn is not liable for loss or physical damage to materials that occurs during transit via third-party courier services.
6. Payment & Collection
   1. Trade Accounts: Trade invoices must be settled within your agreed account terms. For non-account holders, payment is required in full before finished items leave our workshop.
   2. Uncollected Goods: Items left uncollected at our workshop for more than 60 days following notification of completion may be disposed of or sold to recover storage and workshop costs.
